I have probably mentioned this before.
So far, my favorite part of the whole wedding planning thing, is when I decide we aren't going to do something in the original plan and I get to cross it off all my lists.
And, since I am a list-a-holic, I decided this might be a good one to go with.
A LIST OF THINGS WE WERE AT ONE TIME GOING TO DO AT OUR WEDDING, BUT HAVE SINCE DECIDED NOT TO, FOR ONE OF A VARIETY OF REASONS:
1. Originally was going to have memory boxes like Sarah of Stinkerpants found here: http://stinkerpants.com/blog/2008/07/09/memory-boxes-revisited/
Have decided against these for various reasons (lack of memorablia for ShugarGroom, us having our own exhibit on display, my being lazy.)
2. Cookie and Coffee Bar. (did you know I was planning on MAKING over 50 dozen cookies on my own in the two months prior to the wedding and freezing them. hahahahahaha. glad I wised up.)
3. Fortune Cookies as Favors with a little note explaining our fortune cookie story
4. Wearing a Veil
5. Getting extensions (im quite certain we can pull off my hair with out them at this point. but I will see what the bridesmaids say this weekend)
6. Having assigned seating at tables named after different DCI cores.
7. and a full blown meal, at that. (we are having lots of finger foods on a buffet instead.)
8. Having a Fun Photo Booth. (and because of my not having this anymore, I now have a box of dress up stuff and props just to hang on to for fun. Actually, we've talked about making a fake photo area at the rehersal and having my v. talented and lovely MOH-Danielle who has taken up photography lately, take some photos….this has still not come to decision. Im sure this weekend we will discuss it more :) )
9. A welcome video for the website. (I have not yet given up on this- HOWEVER- I don’t really think it will get done. We took like an hour of footage in down town schenectady last september and it has yet to be downloaded to the computer for us to edit. I have no idea what we have done with the tape, and with ShugarGrooms work schedule, I don’t really see it getting done. but I understand and its not too big of a deal for me.)
10. Martha Stewart Tissue pouches found here: http://www.marthastewartweddings.com/good-things/tissue-pouches-for-your-guests?autonomy_kw=tissue%20holder&rsc=header_11 (which explains why I found 20 travel tissue packs while unpacking last night)
11. Making "planetarium show" tickets to include in the invitation - we are having a planetarium show at the reception and I was going to make some little tickets for added detail. I give up.
12. Having an IPOD playlist for music.
sometimes when I think about all the things we AREN'T DOING, I start to feel like we aren't going to have a "cool enough wedding"
But then I remember that a) we have a lot of OTHER really cool stuff going on.
and most importantly b) I don't care how "cool" our wedding is, as long as we are surrounded by people who love us, as we declare our love and lives together with Christ.

I love the coffee bar idea!
Eh no one will know what you didn't do. Everyone will be so happy with what you did do!
